Colorado’s peak vista community health centers opened in 2007 with the sole purpose of providing health care services to residents. The centers serve an array of health problems and offer a variety of services including: physical therapy, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, nutrition, vision services, and more.
One of the main reasons people need these specialized health care services is because they often have long-term health conditions. The main reason they don’t have health care services is because they can’t pay for it. One of the largest problems in Colorado is the lack of access to health care. In the last decade, the state has only seen a 1/16 increase in the number of people with health insurance.

With a lack of affordable private insurance, the state is forced to turn to Medicaid or other state programs that are not as well funded. While this is a major problem, it is also, unfortunately, a very common one.

People who are uninsured are forced to use the very health centers that are supposed to give them the medical attention that they need. We often hear about the great care that people receive in the health centers, but we rarely see the people who are using them.

Peak Vista is a community health care center where people receive health care in a more affordable and accessible manner. It’s a non-profit organization that’s based out of Colorado’s capital city, but it’s more than just a single health facility.
