“Love is blind” is the phrase that says it all. Love doesn’t need to be anything or anyone in particular. Love comes to us from everywhere. It wants to be felt, known, and seen. It wants to be known as beautiful, and if it isn’t, it will be. It wants people to want it too, because love is a powerful force.
When we first meet Love, he doesn’t know who he is. Because it is so blind, he doesn’t even know it’s love. Yet, he is the one who takes the first step, and becomes the one who takes the first step for love. The moment when Love accepts that he is the one for whom others want to take the first step is the moment when the blind becomes the sighted.
I was talking earlier with someone about Love who was blind, and I pointed out that Love’s first step was to take the first step for love. I got a lot of “yes, that’s true” and “I can see that” from you guys, and also a lot of “he’s a good dude”, “he’s just a little confused” and “that’s fine” with the love-blind.
To be fair, Love is also blind to his own feelings for the first step for love is when Love accepts that he is the one who will take the first step for love.
This is such a good reminder that love is more than just a feeling that we get, or a feeling that we need in order to be with someone we care about. Without love, we wouldn’t be our own person. Love is our most important feeling because without love, we would be nothing. Love is our way to become who we are meant to be.
