How To Sleep Better When You Are Sharing A Bed

Some people find sleeping in a bed with someone else much easier than sleeping alone. Others are the complete opposite – when they’re by themselves, they can sleep perfectly, but when there is someone else around, they find it hard to drop off. If this is you, you might be concerned that you are damaging your health because you’ve decided to move in with a partner or they stay over more often than not. What can you do? You need your sleep, but you don’t want to break up with someone for that reason. Luckily, there are some things you can do that should help you. Read on to find out more.

Have Sex

Since you’re sharing a bed with your partner anyway, it makes sense to make that bed-sharing a lot more intimate and have sex with them. You don’t have to do this every night, of course, and you don’t have to do it if you don’t feel like it, but if you do – and they do – it can be an ideal way to allow you to get a good night’s sleep.

No matter whether you use vibrating strap ons, other toys, or no accessories at all, the excitement and pleasure of sex releases a variety of hormones into the body. These hormones will increase your energy, but once they disappear again, you’ll feel sleepy and at peace. On top of that, sex is exercise, so you’ll be tired afterward. This will make sleep easier.

Have A Good Mattress

If you feel uncomfortable in your bed, then getting to sleep is always going to be hard. Buying a new mattress is a big part of this, so investing in something that will help you sleep better and protect your back and neck is worthwhile.

Moving in with a partner is a great excuse to finally buy a good-quality mattress. Mattresses can be expensive, but if you’re sharing the cost, you can buy a much better one than if you were buying one by yourself. So, you can thank your relationship for your new mattress, and sleep better as a result.

Have A Bedtime Routine

When you first start sharing a bed with someone, it can feel strange because your usual routines might have to change. This will be tricky at first, but if you can create some new routines, you’ll soon feel a lot more comfortable. If you can do these things together, it’s even better.
A good bedtime routine is one that allows you to completely unwind and relax before bed. This will allow your body and brain to know that it’s bedtime, and you should be able to get to sleep much more easily, whether you’re with someone else or not. Some of the things you can do include getting into your night clothes, cleaning your teeth, reading a book, listening to music, or listening to a podcast. Make sure that your bedtime routine doesn’t include a screen because they emit blue light and this can confuse your circadian rhythm and make it much harder to fall asleep.
