  • 2. Start slow. If you’re new to online education, ask your instructors if they can begin with a short course or two so that you can get yourself acquainted. Many offer a free trial period.
  • 3. Check out the services that are available via the school’s website to see if they have anything that might help you manage your courses more easily:
  • 4. If your course has an extension option, use it and get back on track! Request for more time to finish your relevant courses by emailing them at least one month before the due dates.
  • 5. If your school has a virtual learning center, you may be able to take advantage of the tutoring services offered.
  • 6. Many schools have blogs or forums that you can use to connect with other students and find solutions to the problems you’re struggling with.
  • 7. If your course requires a group project or live lectures, suggest getting help via Skype or screen sharing apps such as GoToMeeting, TeamViewer and WebEx Meetings. This way, you can bring in someone who can help with the technical aspects of your coursework while you focus on the parts that are most relevant to your educational goals.
  • 8. Set yourself up for success. If you’re taking a summer course, try to plan with your class schedule to avoid too many other responsibilities during June, July, and August.You may want to re-enroll in the fall semester or wait until you can pay attention and focus on your education without any distractions and get benefits of online courses. Another great way to set yourself up for success is to request help from friends, family members or co-workers who might be willing to assist you with any courses that require more than one person.
