I think that we have a lot of medical professionals who are so focused on exercise and eating right that they are not taking into account the other things that matter.
They are not getting enough sleep. Yes, the average American spends less time sleeping than the average Japanese but they are also spending less time eating and exercising. In fact the average American is spending just four hours on average in bed. Thats much more than the Japanese.
The average American spends four hours a night lying on their couch, which is more than Japan.
Exercise. The average American spends 30 minutes a day on the elliptical. The average Japanese spends 8.5 hours a day on the elliptical.
